What I do

Dr Alex Everitt MBBS PhD FRCP(UK)

I was appointed consultant neurologist at St Mary’s Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, London in 2003.

I undertake 3 NHS clinics (epilepsy and general neurology) every week, in addition to running a monthly clinic for people with HIV infection and neurological problems.

I participate in the Mon-Fri consultant attending rota for in-hours acute neurological emergencies at St Mary's Hospital, and also provide on call consultant input for out-of-hours neurological emergencies for 4 separate NHS hospitals for 2 full weeks every year.

As well as specialising in epilepsy and neurological problems in people living with HIV, I diagnose and treat patients with a wide spectrum of neurological problems including headache and migraine, dizziness, blackouts, sensory symptoms, weakness, abnormal movements, unsteadiness, memory impairment, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, peripheral neuropathy, myasthenia gravis and muscle problems.

From 1st March 2022 onwards I am transitioning my private practice to Cleveland Clinic London (www.clevelandcliniclondon.uk).

I will continue to see private patients at the Princess Margaret Hospital, Windsor every Wednesday afternoon (from midday until 8 pm), as well as at the Cleveland Clinic Portland Place Outpatient Centre, 24 Portland Place, London, W1B 1LU (Monday mornings 8 am-12 midday and Tuesday evenings 4-8 pm).
